Greetings Jellico High School Alumni.   Homecoming 2008 was enjoyed by all who attended.

Homecoming invitations were mailed out this week.  The Homecoming will be Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24, 2009.

Our mail out was almost 1,100 cards.  We lost some of our members since last October and have already received some mail that others who received the invitations have passed on.  There is a moral to this story JHS Alumni, and that is attend Homecoming this year because you may see some of your friends and classmates for the last time.

If you did not receive an invitation and would like to, we need your address.  Email us here and give us name, address, phone, year graduated, and maiden name for the ladies so classmates can identify you.

Four classes (1949, 1959, 1964 and 1989) have announced full class reunions for 2009 and plans are underway for those.  If you graduated in any of those years look here for details on YOUR class reunion.  Three of these classes has selected an Honoree candidate and those names are on the website.

This is a special message to all of you who attend the Homecoming each fall.  Please make it a point to invite another JHS friend who doesn't attend often or has never attended.  If you attended JHS you are WELCOME at Homecoming.  We have quite a number of attendees who moved and graduated elsewhere but come back frequently and enjoy Homecoming.  We are all glad to see each of them.

The Walk Through Time is a gallery of yearbook photographs beginning in the 1930s and will include 2008 graduates.  Folks I had the pleasure of seeing the Walk Through Time several years ago when Bill Branam put it together.  If you have not seen it, you will be thrilled when you do.  You may see your own picture as a Senior Class member or those of your parents.  Bill did a wonderful job on this.

We had ten class reunions in 2008.  We had attendees from the far reaches of the West Coast of the US.  We have very faithful attendees who come each year from across the country.  The question always arises "Where are the JHS attendees who live in Jellico and surrounding communities?"  Fellow Blue Devils, PLEASE come out and see your friends and classmates.  They all care about you and want to see you.  I challenge you to try one year, and I believe you will return with great anticipation.

If you know a person who lives in the local Jellico community, invite them to come to Homecoming with you.

Is YOUR class due for a Class Reunion?  We need to know so we can help you locate classmates and post your information on the website so others can see it.  We look forward to seeing all of you in October 2009!

To all Jellico High School Alumni:  The Alumni Association is a Volunteer Organization.  The officers and staff are elected each year by the Homecoming attendees.  The aim of each of the members is to make YOUR Homecoming enjoyable.  We receive our gratification from each smiling face we see when classmates are re-united after the passing years.
